Turning Data Into Direction

The Data Analytics unit, under the supervision of the Chief of Accreditation, Data Analytics, and Transformation, supports Johnson C. Smith University by providing accurate, timely, and actionable data to inform decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. Through collaboration with faculty, staff, and administration, the unit enhances institutional effectiveness by developing data-driven insights, managing analytics tools, and fostering a culture of informed decision-making.

Data Request Form

What we Do

  • Analyzing and reporting information about the institution.
  • Fulfilling internal data requests.
  • Providing accurate and timely responses to external reports and surveys, such as Integrated Post-secondary Education Data Systems (IPEDS), Common Data Set (CDS) and U.S. News & World Report.
  • Maintaining and managing data dashboards.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the university data warehouse.
  • Leading the data governance council and providing support to data stewards across campus.
  • Providing data for accreditation and assessment.
  • Conducting climate and engagement surveys for the campus community, and preparing executive summaries based on survey findings.

Institutional Data

Internal Dashboards (Authorized Access Only)

Our Tableau Cloud environment hosts internal-facing dashboards, which are available only to authorized users. Access is limited to designated personnel. Authorized users can log in using their JCSU credentials via Single Sign-On (SSO) to view the dashboards.
