U.S. News and World Report Ranks Johnson C. Smith University Top private HBCU in North Carolina

Charlotte, N.C. / September 17, 2020 – North Carolina is home to five private HBCUs and Johnson C. Smith University has been listed as the highest-ranked among them according to the 2021 U.S. News and World Report.

In addition, JCSU is:

  • Among the top six HBCUs in North Carolina
  • Among top five small (less than 2,000 students) HBCUs overall
