Gambrell Foundation Announces Gift That Pushes JCSU Fundraising Goal past $80 million

The Gambrell family continued its long history of support by announcing a $1.8 million gift to Johnson C. Smith University during an event on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

The event also celebrated an announcement from the Mayor’s Racial Equity Initiative. Johnson C. Smith University’s workstream has surpassed its $80 million fundraising goal thanks to the Gambrell Foundation gift. It is the first of four workstreams to meet and surpass its fundraising goal.

Harris Teeter Commits $50,000 to JCSU Golden Bulls General Market

Nearly 40 percent of college-aged students are considered low-income and, as a result, experience issues such as food insecurity. 

Dr. Cathy Jones, dean of Students, and the entire student affairs team work closely to assure students’ needs are met. Thankfully, Johnson C. Smith University has the Golden Bulls General Market, currently located in Davis House, which provides food and general care products to University students. 

Atrium Health Partners with Johnson C. Smith University on Enhanced Health Center

For decades, students, faculty and staff at Johnson C. Smith University have had convenient access to its on-campus health center. Thanks to a partnership with Atrium Health, JCSU officially opened an improved Health Center during an event on Thursday.
