Inauguration Week kicked off with a joint concert titled “Portrait of a Queen,” featuring the JCSU Concert Choir, JCSU Drumline and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. This year was the second consecutive year of this partnership. More than 400 tickets were issued for this event, held inside the Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium, April 2, 2024.

Today's feature is Jazmeen Ryals-Sumter '25M, a Jersey City, N.J. native in her first year in the JCSU Master of Social Work program.

New Jersey native Eryn Glover ’25 is no stranger to accomplishments at Johnson C. Smith University. Now, the Business Administration major has another experience to add to her resume after she was selected to serve as a project coordinator/administrative assistant for one of the world’s leading tech companies, Apple.

The CIAA Tournament 2024 was held at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, February 26 – March 3, 2024. We wanted to find out how Johnson C. Smith University President, Dr. Valerie Kinloch and Chairman Steven Boyd reflected on the experience this year.

Gratitude extends to Bank of America, which allowed students in the College of Business and Professional Studies (CBPS) to tour the bank’s headquarters in Charlotte on March 5.

​Danaria Gorham ’24 originally wanted to pursue a career in social work, but when she took a reporting course at Johnson C. Smith University, she fell in love with journalism. Now, the soon-to-be graduate and Woodbridge, Va. native has earned the opportunity to further her love for storytelling through an internship with National Geographic this summer.

JCSU closed out Black History Month this year with a performance and discussion at a Lyceum event on leap day. 

The event in Sara Gambrell Auditorium in Biddle Hall brought back several talented alumni who came to entertain and educate JCSU students. 

The CIAA Basketball Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 29 centered on women: powerful, purposeful, strong and centered. The day began with a burst of optimism at the CIAA Women's Empowerment Luncheon and ended, for the Golden Bulls, on the court.
