Charlotte, NC – Johnson C. Smith University proudly congratulates Dacia Lowery, a rising senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Management, on receiving a $5,000 scholarship from the National Black McDonald's Operators Association (NBMOA).
Established in 1972, the National Black McDonald's Operators Association (NBMOA) is the largest organization of established African American entrepreneurs in the world. The scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to future success.
Originally from Asheboro, North Carolina, Dacia has maintained an outstanding 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career, earning a place on the President's List every semester. She is also a member of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business, recognizing her exceptional academic achievement.
In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dacia is a member of the Johnson C. Smith University Women's Volleyball Team, where she earned the Newcomer of the Year award last season. Successfully balancing the demands of Division II athletics with a rigorous academic schedule has strengthened her leadership, time management, discipline, and resilience.
Following graduation, Dacia plans to launch her own event planning business, combining her entrepreneurial vision with the business knowledge and leadership skills she has developed at Johnson C. Smith University.
