Charlotte, NC/November 18, 2025 — Johnson C. Smith University is excited to announce "An Evening with the JCSU Percussion Department," a unique "Informal Performance," taking place on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. in the Band and Music Hall, located on our campus at 100 Beatties Ford Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216.

This engaging event will showcase the incredible talent of both the JCSU Percussion Studio and the JCSU Drumline, under the expert direction of Mr. Ricardo Reese, Mr. Darren Clark, and Mr. Chandler Cannon. Unlike a traditional concert, this Informance will provide attendees with an insightful glance into the teaching styles and techniques employed within our Percussion Studio and Drumline.

Audience members will witness not only captivating performances but will also experience demonstrations of innovative teaching methods integrated into each piece. This interactive format allows the community to appreciate the educational approach that shapes our talented student musicians.
This event also offers the community a "first look" at the 2025-2026 season for the percussion department.
