Dr. Maureen D. Leary is an experienced accounting professional and educator with over 15 years in private accounting and a proven track record of leading teams across diverse industries. She brings a deep expertise in general ledger analysis, cash accounts, and the application of current accounting standards, including IFRS and tax laws. Currently pursuing research on the self-efficacy of first-year accounting students, she integrates pedagogy and empirical study to enhance student learning outcomes. Since 2012, she has served as Assistant Professor of Accounting at Johnson C. Smith University, where she imparts theory and practice in accounting, auditing, and valuation, and guides students through balance sheet and income statement analysis. In addition to teaching, she prepares lectures, exams, and course materials, and provides tutoring and academic counseling to support student success.
