Biography

Alisha Uchegbu is a compassionate and student-focused higher education professional dedicated to helping transfer students successfully transition into life at Johnson C. Smith University. A North Carolina native, Alisha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Winston-Salem State University, where her academic experiences shaped her passion for student advocacy and access to higher education.

As a Transfer Admissions Counselor at JCSU, Alisha works closely with prospective and transfer students to guide them through the admissions process—from application to enrollment. She supports students by evaluating transfer coursework, clarifying degree pathways, and helping them understand how their previous academic experiences align with JCSU’s programs. Her goal is to ensure students feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.
