POSITION:               DATA ENTRY CLERK - ADMISSIONS

DEPARTMENT:        OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS

Responsibilities:  Under occasional supervision, performs accurate and efficient data entry, and performs a variety of other routine clerical tasks in support of department operations. Reports to the Director of Admissions.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Enters information pertaining to prospective students into the computer database (Jenzabar) with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Enters information pertaining to prospective students into the computer database (EMAS) with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Assembles and mails information about the University and admissions policies and procedures to prospective students as requested.
  • Performs routine clerical work as needed, including preparing daily mail, typing forms and reports, copying and filing documents, assembling materials, faxing information, etc.
  • Answers the telephone; provides accurate information to callers and/or forwards calls to appropriate staff person. Greets office visitors and performs customer/public service duties as required.
  • Interacts and communicates with immediate supervisor, other department supervisors and employees, co­ workers, students, prospective students, parents, faculty members, alumni, and the general public.

 

Qualifications: Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by one to two years of secretarial and/or clerical experience, or an -equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must demonstrate Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office, ability to type 40 words per minute with accuracy, proficiency in data entry 10-kcy and alpha numeric, with intermediate to advanced Basic Office Skills. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.

 

Finalists for this position are subject to a background check. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history and identity check.
