Johnson C. Smith University offers a variety of academic achievement services to help students to become successful, independent, and life-long learners. Use these services to help you to reach your academic goals! 


Academic Center for Excellence (ACE)

Speak with an ACE academic advisor to help you set goals, create an academic plan, register for courses, add/drop courses, and examine your values, interests and skills to help you to select a major.

Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD)

The Center for Career and Professional Development provides an array of services and programs to prepare JCSU students for the achievement of successful careers, and personal and professional development. 

Math Lab

Get assistance with math or math related courses including finance, physics, and statistics for behavioral science. Services include tutoring, supplemental instruction and calculator workshops.

Student Support Services (SSS)

Get assistance with achieving your academic goals! Eligible students receive one-on-one support, academic advising, peer mentoring and tutoring, career and graduate school exploration, and cultural and educational enrichment activities.



Students with Disabilities

Students with a professionally verified disability are eligible to receive reasonable accommodations to assist them with their studies. Services include testing accommodations, disability management counseling, referral to on and off campus resources and acting as a liaison to university departments. 

The Writing Studio

Strengthen your writing skills with the help of The Writing Studio. Faculty and peer consultants are available to assist you with generating ideas, grammar, organization, creativity, and more. The Writing Studio also offers opportunities for you to showcase your creative writing talents too! 

Nationally Competitive Scholarships and Fellowships

Participate in intensive training to develop the critical thinking, writing and public speaking skills required to rival the best and the brightest for nationally competitive scholarships and fellowships. The opportunities for which students may apply include the Barry M. Goldwater Undergraduate Scholarship, the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship, the James Madison Memorial Fellowship and the Rhodes Scholarship, among others.
