Named for JCSU benefactor Irwin Belk, part of the family behind Belk department stores, the Irwin Belk Complex opened in 2003. The Complex boasts a 4,500-seat stadium which is home to the Golden Bulls football team, and it also features an Olympic-sized track as well as a dance studio, multimedia classrooms, and weight rooms, fitness training, and wellness programming offered to students, faculty, and staff via the JCSU Health Plex.  The Irwin Belk Complex has also been host to several major track events, including an NCAA II championship, a CIAA championship and several other programs involving the community, and the stadium serves as the location of the university’s annual Commencement program.
