About us

The Center for the study of Metacognitive Variables functions as a research center and think tank within Johnson C. Smith’s University College.   The Center examines non-cognitive and metacognitive skills to identify those that predict enrollment patterns, academic performance and educational persistence. 

Sit Lux scholarship research program:

As a research initiative, Sit Lux is a year-long, first-year student program designed to give student the opportunity to attend JCSU as a freshman without consideration of standardized test or grade point average.

Johnson C. Smith University has three distinguishable admission criteria.  These are the Traditional/Regular Criteria, the Biddle Criteria, and the Sit Lux Criteria.
