Center for Applied Leadership and Community Development

JCSU works through its Center for Applied Leadership and Community Development to improve the local community. The Center is also developing the next generation of leadership in Charlotte.

Developing leaders and serving the community

Created in 2009, the Center for Applied Leadership and Community Development not only develops future leaders, but it also links current community leaders with the research and academic resources of JCSU. Among the Center's contributions:

  • Small business and leadership development programs
  • Leading JCSU's "Soul of the Northwest Corridor" initiative, an examination of how residents are attached to the community and an effort to use that attachment as a catalyst for an improved community and economic growth

Center of Service

The Center also serves as the central agency for JCSU's service learning and community service opportunities.
