Bio:
Dr. Butler is a professor of health education at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C. She is primarily responsible for the school health major curriculum (teacher education) and is serving as the coordinator of health programs in the Department of Health and Human Performance. Areas of interest/expertise include HIV/AIDS education, sexual orientation and gender issues.
Dr. Butler has 18 years' teaching experience and has taught 20 different health education classes. She is the 2002 recipient of the Par Excellence Teaching Award and was awarded the 2003 Distinguished Alumnae Award from Kent State University. She is the author of a number of articles and has presented at a variety of conferences at the international, national, regional, state and local levels.
