(CHARLOTTE,
NC)--Two
Johnson C. Smith University Queens are featured in the April
issue of Ebony Magazine.
Miss Johnson C.
Smith 2005 Chaundra Crawford and Miss Johnson C. Smith 1988
Evans LaCara Reddick represented the university in two separate
articles which feature Historically Black University Queens:
Then and Now.
Crawford is
a senior Communications major and is a native of Clinton, Md. Reddick,
a native of Tifton, Ga., works as a Marketing and Fund
Development Specialist with the Faith Center for Community
Development in New York City. Reddick also was a former employee
of JCSU serving as the executive assistant to the university
president, Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy.
Johnson
C. Smith University has been ranked twice by U.S. News and
World Report as one of the best comprehensive colleges in
the South. Founded in 1867 as Biddle Memorial Institute, the
university enrolls approximately 1,500 students and confers
bachelor’s degrees to hundreds of students each year in 32
different majors.
