JCSU News Release

Jackson Named to All-American Football Team-
August 11, 2004 
(Pittsburg, KS)----The 2004 NCAA Division II Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team has added Johnson C. Smith Senior defensive end Justin Jackson to the team for his accomplishments during the 2003 season. Last season, the Augusta, GA native saw action in all 10 games. He was second on the team in total tackles – 66 (37 solo, 29 assisted), had a team high seven tackles for a loss of 25 yards, 2 break-ups, three quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. 

A total of 130 players – 63 offense, 51 defense – representing all four geographic regions of NCAA Division II were named to the 2004 Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team. Sixty-six schools have representation on the squad, including others affiliated with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.  This is the first time that Jackson has been named to any Preseason All-America Team.
