“Maxyme”
is a short experimental narrative film. It was filmed in
Savannah, GA. in April 2004 with the assistance of three JCSU
Communication Arts students – Indya Davis, Sitara Sadler and
Michelle Sturdivant. The super 16mm film is based on a poem by New
York artist Garren Smalls. Directed by Lisa Inserra and produced by
John Fitch III (who also did the sound design), “Maxyme”
examines an American man’s desire to connect with his estranged
French girlfriend. Contemporary political and cultural issues
resonate within the international context of the film. The film
stars William Boyer, a Charlotte native who appeared in the Academy
Award nominated film, “Cold Mountain”.
Lisa
Inserra and John Fitch will conduct a question and answer session
and discussion following the screening.

the non-profit Vox Theatre Company. Inserra received the Outstanding
