C.U.R.E. Founder and CEO
Ida Hakim
is the founder and CEO of Caucasians United for Reparations and
Emancipation (CURE). She also serves other organizations and entities
in the following capacities: CEO of All For Reparations and
Emancipation (AFRE), a United Nations Non-Governmental Organization in
consultative status; Ambassador of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam to
Caucasians in North America; and Commissioner on the National
Commission for Reparations. Born in 1946 and raised in South Dakota,
Hakim is married to a black man whose ancestors were enslaved
Africans. She is a Muslim, and she attributes her political activism
to her spiritual belief in freedom, justice and equality.
Hakim co-authored the book Reparations: the
Cure for America's Race Problem which was published in 1994. She also
acted as Publisher of JustICE, JustUS, Justice Magazine from 1995 to
1997, and continues to publish many articles on reparations, including
a regular column in Muhammad Speaks Newspaper. She has attended many
United Nations meetings and spoken before the UN Working Group on
Minorities, appeared on numerous television and radio programs, and
participated in panels and spoken at universities.
