Smith University (JCSU) will participate in the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), at the sixth annual meeting at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. April 5-7. RALEIGH, N.C. - March 4, 2013 – Five students from Johnson C. Smith University participated in the Second Annual Ethics Bowl Competition hosted by the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) on Feb. 8 and 9. Briana Robinson, Laylaa Randera, Tania Vazquez, Yerisson Cardenas and Lerato Motaung competed at Campbell University School of Law along with students from 18 independent colleges and universities in North Carolina.
Charlotte, N.C., February 27, 2013 – Sound Decisions RDS Inc., a nonprofit organization created by Johnson C. Smith University alumni Oscar and Kiya Frazier, recently received a Smart Art: Graffiti Prevention Mural Grant from Keep Charlotte Beautiful. The grant was used to create a mural depicting famous North Carolinians, while encouraging youth to take pride in their community and prevent graffiti.
Electrolux Announces Scholarship Program for Johnson C. Smith University and Project L.I.F.T. - $100,000 Total to Support Students in Science, Technology

The company is providing $100,000 in funding over the next four years for students from the L.I.F.T. zone of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools majoring in science and technology subject areas at Johnson C. Smith University.
