Johnson C. Smith to Host A Vintage Affair

Charlotte, N.C. (March 15, 2012) — Johnson C. Smith University will host A Vintage Affair, an intimate evening of food, jazz and a live auction of rare vintage wines. The event will take place Thursday, April 12 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Foundation for the Carolinas, located at 220 North Tryon Street.

The event will culminate in the raffle of a rare 1891 Biondi-Santi Brunello. Generously given to the university by an anonymous donor, the vintage wine is one of only seven bottles left in the world. Three other bottles of Biondi-Santi Brunello – a 1945, 1955 and 1961 – will also be auctioned to benefit the University.

Individual tickets to the event cost $350 and include one ticket and one raffle ticket. Raffle tickets for the wine auction cost $100 each. Executive professorship tickets are also available for $1,000 and include two reserved seats at the event and two raffle tickets.

Proceeds from A Vintage Affair will support the JCSU Entrepreneurship Program and the JCSU Fund in the form of needed funds for scholarships, teaching and learning initiatives, in addition to programs that are vital to providing a high-quality education to JCSU students.
