JCSU Monitors Hurricane Irene

Charlotte, N.C. (August 25, 2011) -- The safety of our students, faculty and staff is a top priority for Johnson C. Smith University.  Therefore, the administration is monitoring Hurricane Irene closely and has established a plan that will be implemented should Hurricane Irene affect the Charlotte area directly.  However, no significant impact is expected at this time. If action becomes necessary, students, faculty, staff and parents will be notified of emergency procedures through Blackboard Connect, our emergency notification system.  If the University is closed for hurricane-related reasons, information will be communicated via Blackboard Connect, the JCSU website (, and local radio and television stations.
