Daryl D. Jackson

Judge Anita Laster Mays appointed Daryl D. Jackson to the position of interim director on July 30, 2012. After careful review, on Monday, December 17, 2012, Jackson was selected for the position of director of the Greater Cleveland Drug Court. Jackson will assume full responsibility for Cleveland Municipal Courts’ Drug Court internal and external operations as the director. Jackson has been with the municipal court system for four years and is currently the youngest director at the municipal court.

Jackson is a 2007 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, N.C., where he received a Bachelor of Social Work degree and minored in African-American studies. Later he attended Case Western Reserve University and completed his degree at Cleveland State University with a Master of Social Work degree with a focus in mental health in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 2011, Jackson was certified by the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) board to practice cognitive behavioral/motivational enhancement therapy. In September 2012, he received his licensure as a chemical dependency counselor by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board, and he is currently seeking his Ph.D. in public administration.

Jackson is a native of Chester, S.C. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Jackson and Linda C. Kennedy. His paternal grandparents are Patricia Rhinehart Jackson and Andrew Jackson. Maternal grandparents are Alvenia Rambert Kennedy and the late Howard Kennedy. Jackson is also the great-grandson of Eliza Rhinehart, the late James Rhinehart Sr., the late Willie Mae Harris Rambert and the late Derry Rambert.
