5K Golden Bull Race Is a New Activity in Homecoming Week

The Health and Human Performance Department added to the activities for Homecoming with a 5K Golden Bull Run on Friday, October 25. The event was sponsored by the Health and Human Performance Club, Willingdon Wealth Management, the JCSU Office of Institutional Advancement, OrthoCarolina, Old School 105.3, the JCSU Bookstore, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, and the Department of Health and Human Performance. One hundred and forty students and faculty braved a chilly morning for the event and 50 runners/walkers participated in the event. The event raised $281 to benefit Sisters Network, an organization dedicated to increasing local and national attention to the impact of Breast Cancer on the African American Community.

JCSU alumnus Leford Green ’11 finished top overall for the males followed by Dr. Robert Lindsey, associate professor of Health Education. JCSU sophomore Tyesha Savage was top female winner and her classmate, Morgan Hasty, came in second.
