Special Giving

In addition to the Annual Fund, several other special gift opportunities are available to alumni, parents, and friends of JCSU.  Please remember that regardless of designation, every gift to the university impacts our students in a positive way.

Scholarships
JCSU is committed to keeping its distinctive education affordable. Nearly 85% of JCSU students demonstrate financial need and receive some form of aid. Click
here to go to our Scholarships web page.

Reunion Giving
Throughout the years, reunion classes have shown their generosity by making gifts to JCSU. While participation by all alumni is important, reunion classes can make a significant contribution to commemorate that special anniversary...a renewed commitment to educational excellence at JCSU.

Legacy Society
Established in 1997, the JCSU Legacy Society recognizes individuals who contribute to the future of the university by leaving more than memories.  They include JCSU in their estate plans through endowed scholarships, property or other investments.  Many people think that making a legacy gift is exclusive to graduates who have been out for 20 years or more.  However, that is not true.  It is important for everyone to think about your estate, no matter how big or small, and how you want it to be dispersed.

Naming Opportunities
The opportunity to place the name of an individual or corporation on a building, room, center or scholarship at a university is a time-honored tradition. The naming of facilities and academic programs recognizes an individual’s high scholarly distinction, devotion, distinguished service and a generous gift.  Any and all combinations of gifts, pledges, and irrevocable deferred gift arrangements are welcome for naming commitments.  Guidelines for naming opportunities are established by the university administration and approved by the Board of Trustees.

Would you like to have your name placed permanently in Biddle Hall? There are still seats available in Biddle auditorium for naming opportunities. Donors can name a seat for themselves, or a loved one. Each seat will have a brass plaque with a donor’s name posted on the back of the chair. The cost is $250 each. If you are interested, please call Karen Lawler at 704-330-1418.

Matching Gifts
Many alumni and friends can increase the impact of their contributions to JCSU by taking advantage of a matching-gift opportunity.  Many corporations offer their employees the benefit of a matching gift program. If you or your spouse work for a matching-gift employer, you may be eligible to have all or a portion of your gifts to JCSU matched. These matching funds increase the positive impact that your contributions have on our students. To see if your employer offers a matching gift program, please consult your human resources office.

Golden Bulls 100 Club
The Golden Bulls 100 Club, an athletic booster organization, has for many years been an important element in the university's quest to provide our student athletes with the very best service the university can offer.  Through various fund-raising efforts, the 100 Club provides financial support for the entire athletic program and sponsors and organizes such things as banquets, tournaments and promotions. The Booster Club also provides awards for the sport banquets, financial assistance for media publicity and much more.
