 Greetings
My Fellow Smithites,
It is indeed an honor and a pleasure for me to welcome you to the
2007 Coronation and to represent you as Miss Johnson C. Smith
University. I am humbled by the confidence and faith you have
bestowed upon me and equally excited to begin the journey of serving
you and our distinguished university.
A major tenet in my life is that service is not an expectation, but
an obligation. Each of us has the responsibility, and most
importantly the skills and talents, to make our neighborhoods, our
schools, our communities, even our world a better place in which to
live.
As Miss Johnson C. Smith University 2007-2008, may I challenge you
to honor our heritage and legacy by remembering those who made
significant sacrifices availing the opportunities we have before us
today, to embrace the present by seizing those opportunities, and to
secure our future by providing service not only for our community,
but for mankind.
Again, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve as Miss
Johnson C. Smith University, I will cherish the memories forever!
