JCSU Cares
JCSU Cares Program
In
keeping with the University’s goal to “enhance the quality of
service and to be customer oriented,” the
JCSU
Cares service initiative was developed.
JCSU
Cares is a program
designed to teach faculty and staff the skills and strategies
required to provide extraordinary customer service. Please contact
the Office of Human Resources for more information.
Testimonials
The following is what Dr. Nathanael Pollard, had to say
about the program. "JCSU Cares has profoundly impacted how I
interact in particular with all persons who report to me directly.
In general, the program helps me to focus in any conversation with
external or internal customers. The card given out in the program
that includes 'words not to use' and 'words to use' is useful tool
in my conversation toolkit In the division of administrative
affairs, we devote 30 minutes to reviewing the book used in the
program at our bimonthly meetings. A different director leads the
discussion. Customer service is also a part of all assessment plans
for units in the division. I believe that JCSU Cares models the
national leadership initiative titled Service Leadership--whose
motto is, 'Serve first, then lead.' Everyone should go through JCSU
Cares on a continuing basis. Once may not be enough. It is a great
program!"
Heidi Neely
from Faculty Development adds, "the JCSU cares program has
helped in my day to day interactions at work by giving me a positive
response method with customer service. The feedback you get from
parents, students, and co workers makes you feel more valuable and
also feel as if you've been an asset to them."

From
Andrea L. Hylton, M.L.S. JCSU Information Services
Librarian/Webmaster:
"I
learned a lot from fellow co-workers about their roles and the
challenges that each face in their individual departments. As a
relatively new employee, it helped to put the whole University
community concept together for me. The skills taught in JCSU Cares
have been useful in not only exchanges here on campus, but in other
aspects of my life as well. I found it very valuable."
