Johnson C. Smith University’s Upward Bound Programs (Upward Bound/Upward Bound Math and Science) are committed to providing students opportunities for a successful future. Through the development of academic, cultural, and social skills, students are able to discover a world that can offer more choices and increase their personal power to make wise decisions for the future.  

The mission of the Upward Bound Program at Johnson C. Smith University is to provide our students with a challenging creative and dynamic learning environment that will generate the skills and motivation necessary for high school graduation and entrance and successful competition of a program of postsecondary education.
