Horane Hogate, of Jamaica, is a psychology research scholar whose skills, knowledge and competence in research during his undergraduate years have earned him a graduate research fellowship award in the Ph.D. program at Purdue University.
A member of the track team, Horane graduated Summa Cum Laude. His personal research is in cognitive and educational psychology with an emphasis on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) achievement. He was one of 16 psychology scholars to win the Regional Psy Chi Research Award at the Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Psychological Association in Nashville, Tenn., March 7, 2014.
Horane has also participated in the Stanford University Gateways to Science and Mathematics Summer Program, and the Davidson University Summer Research Program.
