Correll Kennedy, of Chester, S.C., is a social studies, secondary education major who will be attending Wake Forest Law School on a scholarship in the fall. He was also accepted at UNC-Chapel Hill. His interests lie in corporate law and litigation. He also wants to become an elected official in his lifetime.
He chose JCSU for its smaller size and came on several academic scholarships, including the Knight Foundation Scholarship, Board of Trustees Scholarship and Wachovia Excellence Foundation.
He is the first in his family to graduate from college and also to graduate from high school in a traditional pathway. The oldest of eight children, he was joined at commencement by 60-70 of his family members and friends. He has been inspiring his two brothers, who are in high school, to think about college and has taken them on visits to area colleges.
