Responsibilities: The Grants and Contracts Budget Specialist I will primarily assist with establishing accounts and monitoring execution of all federally funded grants, ensuring compliance with funding agency and University guidelines. The Grants and Contracts Budget Specialist I will provide support to the Grants and Contracts Budget Specialist II in compilations of grants and financial reporting. Additionally, the Grants and Contracts Budget Specialist I will assist in monitoring anomalies with budget accounts and make recommendations under guidance of departmental management. Assists the Sponsored Programs and Compliance Manager with the preparation of compliance policies and/or the acquisition of compliance forms and documents necessary for day-to-day use and as required by audit and performs other duties as required to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications: This position requires an Associate’s Degree in accounting, business or a related field and 1 – 3 years of related experience. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Higher education work experience, extensive knowledge of OMB circulars and agency specific guidelines relating to grants and contracts are preferred. The equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
