This grant funded nine-month appointment begins in August 2014.
Responsibilities: Teach 12 semester hours of courses per semester or six semester hours plus service as Technical Director for all production needs in the Department of Visual, Performing & Communication Arts. Advise students in the interdisciplinary BA in Visual & Performing Arts (VPA) major, Theatre concentration, and Theatre minor, with intention of developing a Technical Theatre concentration or major over time. Participate in Department, College, and University meetings and committees. Engage in recruiting activities for the major and minor programs.
Qualifications: Terminal degree preferred, Masters Degree and higher education teaching experience required. Ability to teach Liberal Studies and major courses in Technical Theatre, including: Technical Theatre I and Technical Theatre II, and to develop other courses according to abilities, such as specific courses on lighting design, set design, stage management, or other relevant courses. Ability to recruit and retain students in theatre and technical theatre, ability to design and build for high quality student productions in theatre, ability to supervise student work in a professional manner, and ability to collaborate with other artistic disciplines in this interdisciplinary degree program are all desired.
