Harriette Richard is an associate professor of psychology and interim faculty development director. She earned degrees from Hampton University (B.S.) and the University of Arkansas (M.S., and Ph.D.) in experimental psychology. Dr. Richard has taught in a number of college settings - urban, rural, private and state-funded institutions, as well as at Research I institutions. She served as chair of the Department of Psychology at Johnson C. Smith University, board member of the Association of Black Psychologists and The American Association of Blacks in Higher Education. Dr. Richard is a Fulbright Scholar and recently received the Rising Star Award from Johnson C. Smith University. Her research interests include gender, diversity, pedagogy and faculty development. Her professional conference presentations and numerous referred publications attest to her expertise in the fields of psychology and faculty development.
