MISSION:

Computers have permeated our lives, in business and at home. Their uses and applications cover a wider range than any other machine, from the mundane such as processing a receipt to the complex such as controlling a space ship orbiting an outer planet in the solar system, and a vast list of applications in between. Having said that, computers are far from having reached their full capabilities, as innovators, entrepreneurs and scientists continue to find new ways to utilize them. Consequently, the demand for computer scientists and engineers is forever expanding. Furthermore, the subject of computer science and engineering continue to grow in sophistication and diversify into new territories, such as the internet, artificial intelligence and robotics only to mention a few.

Therefore, the department is eager to seize the opportunity of providing the best education and training for students aspiring to obtain a degree in computer science and/or engineering. The department also realizes the responsibility in raising and keeping the standards high. To compete with local and national educational institutions the department is committed in graduating students equipped with the knowledge and competence the job market requires. The emphasis should be placed heavily on excellence in all aspects of teaching and coaching the students throughout their academic endeavor.

The department also focuses on training students on research to gain the necessary experience and knowledge to pursue graduate school.
