By infusing
technology into all disciplines, Johnson C. Smith University
places students and faculty on the cutting edge of change and
innovation. It means using the technology as an instrument and as
a new substance added to our courses and programs. Faculty and
students now engage in high tech research:
-
Communication Arts students use the
labs for writing classes and the graphic labs for their
publications.
-
Students from the Natural Science
Department use the graphics lab for visualization applications
and cell biology.
-
In the Division of Lifelong
Learning programs, students utilize the Center for computer
curricula.
Students majoring in Information
Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Management
Information Systems receive a high quality education and technical
training. In the engineering labs, they train on analog
electronics, circuits, electronic measuring devices such the
oscilloscopes, function generators, multi-meters and electronic
circuit research. Students use breadboards for assembling
electronic circuits and produce engineering projects on robots and
telecommunication systems, both analog and digital. They train on
networking operating systems such as Microsoft NT and digital
signal processing.
