Faik, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Dr. Ahmed Faik has been an Assistant Professor at Johnson C.
Smith University since Fall of 2001. He has a B.Sc. in Physics
and Ph.D. in Optoelectronics from Sussex University in England.
He has several publications in the field of Fiber Optics, and
microelectronics. Dr. Faik has also worked on and was in charge
of the Transmission Electron Microscope in the Cameron Applied
Research Center at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte.
Dr. Ahmed Faik is presently the Co-PI of the HBCU-UP grant
funded by the National Science Foundation. This program is
designed to promote STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and
Math) subjects to HBCU students and increase students’ retention
in those subjects.
