JCSU and the Business and Economics Department offer many special activities. Business executives from companies such as Price Waterhouse Coopers and Wachovia Bank present special lectures on relative topics. 

The Business Administration and Economics Department has two honor societies, Delta Mu Delta National Business Honor Society and Tau Beta Chi Business Honor Society. 

The department also maintains an active chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants. 

The department provides professional business services to the local community, that allows students and faculty, to engage in applied field experiences. Additionally, wide arrays of internship and scholarship opportunities are available to enhance student development.
