Contact Jeffrey Ford:

Jeffrey C. Ford is an assistant professor of teacher education at Johnson C. Smith University, an HBCU in Charlotte, N.C. Ford received a B.A. in English education from Furman University, an M.Ed. in secondary education from the University of Oklahoma and an Ed.D. in reading education from the University of Georgia. He taught middle school language arts in the public schools. He currently teaches courses in teaching as a career, elementary reading, secondary curriculum, issues and trends in educatioan, content area reading and research in education in the Teacher Education Program and freshman orientation with first-year students. He has also taught courses in the universitys Interdisciplinary Studies Program. He led the Teacher Education Initiative for creating student electronic portfolios. He also cochaired the committee on assessment of student electronic portfolios. He is an experienced workshop facilitator on electronic portfolios and reading in the content areas.
