FIELD EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES

ELIGIBILITY 

            Honors College student

            Field Coordinator/Faculty Supervisor Approval 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS 

1.         Provide a written description of proposed work before work is started. Include pre-field work requirements where appropriate, and criteria to be used for evaluation (journals, log sheets, photographs, documents, etc.). 

2.         Provide a program description of the summer research program, foreign study, conference, or national or local activity. 

3.         Obtain appropriate certification from the faculty member supervising your placement. 

4.         Obtain approval from field coordinator. Provide field follow-up materials for portfolio.

CREDIT REQUIREMENTS

            40 contact hours           (3 credits)

            26 contact hours           (2 credits)

            13 contact hours           (1 credit)  

GRADING AND EVALUATION 

1.            Evaluation will be based on completion of criteria outlined in the proposed work plan.

2.          The supervising faculty member will give grade after conferring with the field supervisor.

3.         Presentation of experience to a selected audience approved by the faculty advisor. 

***      Field Experience cannot be used for a Senior Paper or Honors Paper, but could be expanded and uses for another project.
