What You’ll Learn

Bonjour! (Hello!)

French-speaking people have a certain “je ne sais quoi” (indescribable quality). According to WorldAtlas.com, French is not only the language of love, but also the official language of 29 countries.

What will I study as a French major?

As a French major at JCSU, you’ll learn how to speak, read and write in French. You will also be exposed to a variety of French literature that expresses the cultures of French-speaking nations like those in North Africa and the Caribbean.

As you become more confident in your ability to speak and write in a foreign language, the majority of your advanced classes will be taught in French. This will give you the opportunity to practice and perfect your grammar and pronunciation.
