Who You’ll Work With

As an elementary education teacher, you’ll shape the young minds of future presidents, scientists, authors and executives who will one day lead the global community.

At JCSU, our dedicated faculty members will guide you on your journey to becoming an important part of children’s lives.

Experts in Their Field

Your JCSU professors are experienced in the education field, and all full-time faculty members in the Department of Education hold Ed.D. or Ph.D. degrees — some even have both.

To keep their teaching methods innovative, professors participate in conferences and development programs.

Valuable Community Connections

Our professors have connections to schools throughout the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. These connections help place students in our program in schools where they can do the most good.

They have helped place our students in the Freedom Schools summer program, a six-week program geared toward inner-city children who are at risk of failing in school. Our interns traveled to Tennessee for training and came back to teach the students conflict-resolution and problem solving.
