FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE:
You must be a degree seeking student
to be eligible for financial aid at Johnson C. Smith University,
you also must be taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester. Based
on minimum of 6 credits you could be eligible for the following:
Grants, Loans, and Scholarship:
Pell Grant: Free grant based on FAFSA information and classes attended.
North Carolina Legislative Grant:
Free grant offered to North Carolina residents only.
This is available only if you are classified as a full time
student.
Scholarships: Scholarships are
only offered to full time day students unless otherwise
designated.
Loans:
Direct Student Loan- This is
a loan that is based on your FAFSA information. The maximum you
can borrow is as follows.
0-29 credits;
$2625.00
30-59 credits; $3500.00
60-90 credits; $5500.00
91-122 credits; $5500.00
These are loan
maximums based on Department of Education Regulations. You must
attend an Entrance Interview Counseling Session and Sign a
Promissory Note. All financial aid is awarded per academic year. FAFSA’s must be completed every year.
