The Social Science major consists of 42 credit hours and is designed to accommodate two types of students 1) those who are prospective social studies teachers, and 2) those who are seeking a general background in the social science area. Social Studies Education helps students gain an understanding of the social, political, geographical, economic and historic forces operating in society.
