Department of English and Foreign
Languages
The Department of English and Foreign Languages
offers course work that leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree in
English, English Education, Interdisciplinary Studies Major, Spanish, Spanish Education, French, and French
Education. Students may also choose to minor in English. The
Department houses Philosophy and Religion and humanities studies
that have traditionally constituted the centerpiece of a liberal
education.
Advising for
Majors
The six majors in the fields of
English, French and Spanish provide academic advising typically by
the Department Head or the Program Coordinator. Advising for the
Senior Investigative Paper is by an assigned faculty member in the
department. Because the Liberal Arts Major (interdisciplinary
studies) requires each student to develop for approval an
individualized Course of Study, a Liberal Arts Major Adviser works
with these students individually,
The department offers six majors,
three minors and two non-degree curricula.
