Music Business and Technology Major

In the Music Business and Technology program, a student develops both professional experience and artistic creativity in the areas of music technology, the music industry, and electronic/digital music art-forms. The aspiring artist is part of a community of fellow musicians and entrepreneurs engaged in these and related activities, and is encouraged to develop collaborative partnerships with students, faculty and professionals both within and outside the JCSU family.

As he or she develops professional confidence and competence, the student can expect to become well-equipped to pursue graduate work and/or professional advancement in this field. Skills are refined through hands-on, immediate-feedback environments that promote investigation and discovery; the student attains access to learning and creativity tools related to the discipline, early in the major.

Local and distant internship opportunities are continually developed and supported, so that when the student is ready to advance, graduate school and music industry professionals will find the JCSU MBT graduate equipped to thrive in a wide range of contemporary musical settings, with great confidence and a professional attitude.
