Drama and Film

The courses in drama run the gamut from a practical perspective with an emphasis on performance and how plays are staged to the more academic with emphasis on the reading of contemporary works.  The department also offers courses in film criticism, study of film as an art form, and the study of African-American film history. The following are all 3 hour courses.

  • DRAMA 232 Introduction to Theatre              Three credit hours
  • DRAMA 332 Film Criticism
  • DRAMA 330 African-American Film History   Three credit hours
  • DRAMA 333 Drama Workshop
  • DRAMA 433 Modern Drama

Facilities

JCSU Communication Arts students train for the real world of telecommunications with high-quality digital cameras, professional microphones and non-linear digital editing suites. Students regularly use industry standard software programs like Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools to complete their video production assignments.
