Women Entrepreneurs Learn About Green Business Practices

Community Engagement and Education Energy and Climate Waste Prevention and Recycling Water Management

As part of a HUD grant coordinated through the Center for Applied Leadership and Community Development at Johnson C. Smith University, student interns worked on a program for low-income women entrepreneurs in the JCSU community. The program focused on a presentation for women on green business practices. The interns researched steps and resources for women entrepreneurs on the topic and identified green business opportunities in the Charlotte area.

Future plans would entail determining which green business opportunities, programs and policies can be established in the campus sustainability plan through community outreach.
