Writing His Own Future

At age seven, Victor Lopez entered the foster care system and moved from family to family for the next five years until he found what he refers to as the “right home” for him. Doing well in school, Victor recalls that going to college was never an “if.”

Victor, now a student majoring in visual and performing arts, benefits from the support of JCSU faculty and staff in his quest to become an actor, director and producer.

Victor is excited about his future, the difference the Phasing Up program has made in his life and the story that he is writing for himself. “I know what I need to do. And I know that I’m not alone. No matter what, I’m going to make it.”
