Twenty-five stories for the holidays, called "The Gift" in The Charlotte Observer, featured Mabel Washington Brown, a teacher at Thomasboro Elementary School, on what she remembers after 37 years of student gifts, holiday gifts, and year-end teaching appreciation gifts.
