JCSU Starts New Marketing Campaign

The Office of Public Relations recently kicked off its new marketing campaign that is focusing heavily on branding. Now, all of our materials look the same and give the same message. We also will have two billboards up in the surrounding area to communicate our message of "success." Class of 2006 graduate Sekethia Crawford and JCSU student Lionel Johnson will be featured on the billboards. Thank you for all you do in helping us to spread the message that when you think of JCSU, you think of success.

Student Leadership Summit

The Student Leadership Summit was held on Saturday, August 23, 2006, and was attended by approximately 73 students. The annual summit provides Johnson C. Smith University student leaders with a forum that focuses on leadership concepts and theories to aid in their continued development.

This year's theme was "The Value of One, the Power of All," focusing on how relationships, trust and problem solving can be enhanced in a supportive group setting. Students explored the concept of "inclusive leadership" and how to create communities which value respect, openness and diverse opinions.

Successful alumni expressed their involvement as student leaders while attending JCSU and how those experiences aided in their current successes. Students had the opportunity to ask questions of the alumni panel.
